Product Description
Nine-banded Armadillo Babies Notecard
Armadillos are certainly oddities in the mammal world, having traded their fur coats for bony, scaled jackets. But the nine-banded armadillo (Dasypus novemcinctus), at least, is not low in numbers. In fact, its population and range are expanding. Originally a native of South America, it spread north eons ago into Central America, Mexico, and the United States, where it can now be found as far north as Illinois. It’s even the state small mammal of Texas. These three, ten-day-old babies are missing a sibling; in another armadillo biological oddity, females always bear identical quadruplets developed from a single egg.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this product supports the Sierra Club’s efforts to preserve and protect the planet.
