One of the original members of the Group of Seven, Franklin Carmichael spent 21 years of his career working in commercial art and design, and the rest of his life teaching its methods to others. While he is best known for his rugged inviting landscapes of the Canadian wilderness, his design skills served him well in producing these two exquisite flower portraits.
