Heidi Taillefer: Dragon of the Yangtze 1000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

$22.95

Heidi Taillefer (Canadian b. 1970) Brewing the Yangtze, 2000 Surrealism, humanism, and mythology meld in the dynamic work of Canadian artist Heidi Taillefer. In this large-format oil painting, a five-clawed royal dragon represents China’s longest and most important river, the Yangtze. The imagery is replete with symbols of Chinese culture: golden carp suggest wealth and prosperity, cranes represent longevity and wisdom. And disembodied human hands—whether reverently clasped or holding a ceremonial weapon to pierce the dragon—allude to the interplay of humankind with the natural world. Nicknamed “the dragon lady” as the result of a childhood obsession, Taillefer deepens her fascination with dragons and Chinese mythology in Brewing the Yangtze, reproduced in glorious detail on this 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle.

Best Quality Puzzles Ever

I purchase many other brand puzzles regularly, and Pomegranate puzzles are still the best quality ever. The colors are strong and sharp and the constuction is very durable. I redo all of my puzzles at least 6+ times and Pomegranate puzzles hold up the best!

Thanks so much, we really appreciate your support! :)

I hope to retain my sanity putting this together. But the design is so wonderful I'll take the risk!

Best of luck to you, Betsy! :)

Dragon of the Yangtze

This is an exceptionally beautiful puzzle which my family, ranging from 19-76, really found irresistible. We've done many Pomegranate puzzles and this is one of the best.

Thanks for sharing, Jenny. It's great to hear how much it was enjoyed by all! :)
