Anna Teasdale: From Solsbury Hill 1000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle
Anna Teasdale (British, b. 1930)
From Solsbury Hill
“Growing up on the edge of Romney Marsh [Sussex] gave me a strong affinity with landscape, now my main preoccupation . . . the final work is an invitation to stroll about within the parameters of the picture.”
Anna Teasdale (British, b. 1930) remembers reproductions of Pre-Raphaelite paintings of the Sussex-Kent countryside hanging in her childhood school, making her aware at a young age of landscape translated into art. She began painting and went on to graduate from Saint Martin’s School of Art in London. She works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pen and ink, and has exhibited her work in the United Kingdom and internationally since 1960.
