As with Pattie Lee Becker's other artwork, Looking for the Answers is thoroughly imaginative. Her lily pads are laced with eyes, and the fronds they float among are supported by upward-reaching arms and legs. The work shares a thread with much of her art, where drawings detail conceptual worlds or personal narratives.

Raised in the Midwest, Becker now lives in Denver, Colorado. She received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and her MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts; she has been awarded numerous residencies and fellowships.
