Andrea Rich (American, b. 1954), an award-winning, internationally recognized woodcut printmaker renowned for her singular depictions of wildlife in their natural habitats, has explored the intricacies of the medium since her days as a student. For nearly thirty years she has traveled extensively to locations around the globe to observe animals in their natural settings and search for interesting subjects. Because of her concern for the challenges facing wildlife today, Rich goes beyond her art to work for habitat protection for the creatures she so beautifully portrays.
