PoolCat by B. Kliban (American, 1935–1990).
B. “Hap” Kliban (1935–1990) was allergic to cats as a child. Then, one magical day, his allergy vanished, and he got busy gathering a houseful of feline companions. Some of his kitties were named Norton, Nitty, Burton Rustle, Noko Marie the Snake, and Cow. Kliban’s fine sense of the absurd found a perfect artistic subject in the shrewd, slothful, sneaky, lovable cat.
