Jay Burch: Summer Birds & Sunflowers 1,000-piece Jigsaw Puzzle
Summer Birds and Sunflowers
, 2011, by Jay Burch (American)
Oil on linen, 101.6 x 86.4 cm (40 x 34 in.)
Travels in Africa and a year of living in Scotland inspired self-taught American artist Jay Burch to closely observe the world around her, particularly the flora and fauna near her home in the Washington, DC, area. Her often large-scaled canvases are ablaze with color and warmth, yet somehow shadowed and dreamlike. From full flower to withering bloom, the golden petals and verdant greenery of Summer Birds and Sunflowers
shelter a Goldfinch, a Woodpecker, and a brilliant Baltimore Oriole. Burch’s work has garnered many awards, among them a grant for excellence in painting from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
Thoughtfully conceived and engagingly intricate, our 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzles combine superb color reproduction, stunning and unusual images, and sturdy construction to delight generations of novice and veteran puzzleworkers.
