Product Description
The Camden Town Group Boxed Notecards
Formed in 1911, the Camden Town Group took its name from the middle-class area of North London in which a number of its sixteen members lived. Although the Group’s work often focused on loneliness and isolation, its members also shared an interest in depicting the regular but often extraordinary details of modern life. In Lucien Pissarro’s The Fairy, for example, the artist’s deft use of color and placement give the scene a magical atmosphere, while in The Garden Gate, Epping, we see a simple street entry that could just as well be the portal to another world.

Contains five each of the following notecards:
The Fairy, 1894, by Lucien Pissarro
The Garden Gate, Epping, 1894, by Lucien Pissarro
Queen’s Grove, St John’s Wood, 1918, by Robert Polhill Bevan
The Cinder Path, c. 1912, by Spencer Frederick Gore
